Hand-cut and polished gemmy Rhodochrosite Cabochon to be used for jewelry.
 
This is the highest quality band of Rhodochrosite we have got to play with. The gemmy translucency gives way to a beautiful salmon-pink light. 
This is a lovely quality piece with great polish and a perfectly even shape. 

  • Hardness + Care

    Rhodochrosite has a hardness of 3.5-4 which is very soft. This stone can easily be damaged by quartz or harder Gemstones.

    Rhodochrosite can be cleaned with or submerged in water with no damage to the crystal.

  • Locality + Mining Process

    These cabochons were hand cut by one of our Fossickers, and have been away in their personal collection waiting to be made into jewelry.
      

  • Crystal Description

    Rhodochrosite is a manganese carbonate mineral with a chemical composition of MnCO₃. In its pure form, it is typically a rose-red color, but it can also be shades of pink to pale brown. It also streaks white.
